Saltillo is Austin, Texas' oldest and closest Sister City. Austin firefighters have been traveling to Saltillo for more than 10 years, providing training and helping obtain usable equipment and protective clothing. Firefighters from Austin have provided many hours of training to the Saltillo Bomberos, sharing lessons learned in Haz Mat, Firefighter Rescue, Ladders, Saving our Own, Breathing Apparatus, and Rapid Intervention.     Paramedics from Austin/Travis County EMS have also made the trip on several occasions, bringing training in patient assessment and triage.
