Confined Space Rescue - February 2006

Two men were overcome in a 30 foot deep cesspit.
The rescuer is lowered with his tank.
There was not enough room for the rescuer to wear an SCBA.

 

The first victim is hauled out.
Somewhere below are two victims.

 

Both victims were removed in less than one hour. This was one of two victims. Both victims survived.

Explosion and Fire - February 2006

Explosion and fire in February 2006.
Going through the door. The roof inside is gone.
Treating the victim. The resident was seriously injured.
Fighting the fire. The collapsed roof is the fuel.
The culprit - a leaking butane tank beside the kitchen stove.
An old friend of Austin firefighters. This fire truck used to be Travis County Fire Control Company 6.
Overhaul. There is not much left of the kitchen.
